Summer 2005

I am currently in West Newbury, MA - where I grew up; and working for Carat Brand Experience as an Independent Contractor doing online strategic event research and analysis. Hopefully 4 weeks of doing this will allow me to save enough money to cover my plans for the second half of the summer. From June 11th to August 5th I will be volunteering for Habitat for Humanity International down in San Jose, Costa Rica. I will be helping the Director of Construction Formen for Central America develop an Environmental Impact Assesment process for their construction sites and construction process. Then we will create templates and step-by-step guidelines to be utilized as field tools for all of the construction formen all over Central America. Hopefully towards the end of my stay (after 2 months of spanish classes and living in a spanish speaking culture, with a local family) I will be able to hold a training workshop for all of the formen, to explain the tools we developed as well and discuss how best to implement them. The evolution of this project will definately be a recurring topic in the coming months.

Purpose

This is a site for recording and sharing my adventures around the world. I will post regularly when abroad, with photos, anecdotes, and my own thoughts about anything and everything. This will be an easy way for me to maintain contact with my family, friends, colleagues, aquaintences, and random peeps that stumble onto Wally Wanderlust.
